Inject & Forget Mushroom Grow Bag (MOST POPULAR)

EASY METHOD.

Massively reduce the risk of failed harvests with this grow bag. Filled with all the medium, food and moisture you need to inject your gourmet mushroom spores and forget about it. Everything has been weighed out, pressure cooked, packed in a sterile environment and contains the perfect amount of medium, food, oxygen release agents etc. It's the easiest method available anywhere. If left alone, life will find a way. 

Cleanliness is a must! 

Disinfect everything before opening the box the items ship in. Disinfect everything inside the box. Disinfect your hands and arms numerous time. Disinfect work surfaces and the area you wish to store the bag. Please use the grow bag within a day or 2 of ordering as the more time that passes since it was sterilised by us, the more chance of bacteria taking hold. Alcohol is preferred to clean everything but disinfectant spray also works. 

Clean everything! Try avoid any chance that bacteria can make it trough the injection port or air patch before the mycelium has chance to take hold. 

1. Wash your hands and ensure your work environment is clean and break up the medium (hard block) by pressing on it and squashing it between your hands. Being careful not to touch the gas release port with the medium. If the medium isn’t hard when you receive it, no need to break it up first. As long as the medium is light and airy. 

2. Wipe the self healing injection port (black / grey square) with the provided alcohol swab then gently wipe the gas release port (white fabric) with the same swab. Please note there is plastic over the self healing injection port, do not remove it, just inject through it.

3. Inject your spores into the bag and mix thoroughly for a few minutes by squashing and pressing the medium with your hands through the bag (again, trying not to touch the medium on the white fabric port) then stand upright (air port at the top) ensuring you've gently allowed air into the bag via the gas port by pulling the corners of the bag from side to side very carefully. Tap the bag gently on the worktop to ever so slightly pack the medium but leave it light and airy.

4. Place the bag somewhere dark and warm (27-28 degrees C) (any lower or higher the grow will just take a little longer) and literally forget about it for 2 weeks. Don't touch it, don't look at it, don't let light get to it, just forget about it. A cardboard box is ideal or a dark drawer / cupboard. Not a sealed box, remember, the mycelium has to breathe too. 

5. After 10-14 days you should see mycelium (white stuff) forming in the medium. 

6. Mix the bag again through the bag, do not open (with clean hands) thoroughly breaking up all the white clumps and now lay the bag in the same dark / warm place for 5-10 days or until the medium is fully colonised (all white and hard). Keep the bag upright. 

7. Bring the bag into the light (ambient soft light, corner of a warm room) and wait until you see plenty of gourmet mushrooms. Just open the bag with clean scissors and harvest.

EXTRA STEPS IF WANTED.

8. You can now add 250ml of tap water and leave it to sit overnight with a clip or pegs to seal the bag again. 

9. Pour off the excess water, seal the bag again to keep the humidity inside and wait for more mushrooms.

10. Keep adding water & harvesting until no more mushrooms form.

It really couldn't be easier. No more hoping your harvest won't fail. No fanning, No heating / Flame sterilising, no cooking, no messing at all. The only way these brand new bags could fail is if bacteria is introduced during inoculation (injection) but alcohol wipes are provided and work perfect for the job. Do not cover the gas exchange port and ensure the bag has ample air when in the dark.

Please note: Please do plenty of your own research into how to grow mushrooms. Especially how sterile you need to be. We do everything in our power to ensure these are 100% sterile but mould can grow if you’re not clean enough or use the bag improperly.
